He doesn't have to tell Lan Wangji that he can talk in this form. It's easier this way. His ears are flat against his head as he rests in the man's arms. He just needs a little time to be able to figure out how to process the things that were said in the room. He knows he could just pretend that everything is fine, smile and move on, but that doesn't make it hurt any less.

He'll take the time as they are walking to try and decide what to do. For now he can just enjoy the comfort of those arms as he lays in them. It feels just like it does when he human, warm and strong around him.
