Without their respective psychic powers, it's hard to tell what each other is thinking or feeling as he seems to be so deep in thought and seemingly stoic, and speak rather straight-forwardly.

"Oh. I see. Your cup isn't so bad. You can still use it to drink water or have tea with." Which...his remark isn't helping!

Either way, he won't be speaking for the next few moments as he is using a torch to take shape of the handle for his vase...which he's determined to make a water pitcher out of it.
