"They took my boots. They are very fine boots. They won't give it back." He said with mild annoyance.

"It sounds like you really wanted shoes. If I could figure out a way to take the blade off." Maybe that would make him happier except it looks like the blades are fixed in place, so there isn't anything he could do.
